    The name 'Cavallino' has its roots in the ancient Roman place name 'Equilium', meaning 'land of horses', where the animals of the Empire were bred. Evidence of this thousand-year history can still be seen in the charming village of Lio Piccolo, which preserves the traditions and atmosphere of times gone by.
